Sådan indleder KiSS den første officielle udtalelse, om model DP-558 og deres planer og ideer med den spændende ny model.

KiSS forklarer forsinkelserne med, at de med denne model ønsker at gøre en forskel. Det skal ikke blot være endnu en harddisk-optager, men et apparat med muligheder og faciliteter som kan glæde og gøre dagligdagen nemmere.

KiSS DP-558 vil indeholde de kendte muligheder med DivX afspilning, forbindelse til internet og PC for streaming af video, internet-radio mm. Menuer og betjening er optimeret, så mange funktioner kan betjenes blot ved tryk på en enkelt knap.

Waiting for the DP-558 Digital Video Recorder

The DP-558 Digital Video Recorder has been a long time coming and we think it is appropriate to give you an explanation of the reasons behind the late launch despite of the huge demand.

During the development of the DP-558 Digital Video Recorder we realized how big a task it was to couple our well-known features with the recording of TV. However we believe that it is extremely important, that products leaving our hands fulfill your expectations and needs. Compromises on features and quality are simply not an option for us.

We have been very discreet about this project. Mainly due to the impact we wanted to give the market with the introduction of the DP-558 Digital Video Recorder.

It has been a tough time waiting, but now is the time. We are ready to disclose some of the features we will introduce – we are confident that you will agree that good things really do come to those who wait.

Recording your favorite program should be as easy as possible, so along with the launch, KiSS introduces an EPG (Electronic Program Guide) for the Digital Video Recorder. It is implemented as an Internet service giving you all program information on the TV screen, far superior to old-fashioned TV magazines and facilitating easy TV recording.

The decision to wait for this service meant that we needed to make many changes to our software, so we decided to give the user interface a “fresh up” at the same time, to apply an even easier navigation along with the new features.

In addition the DP-558 Digital Video Recorder will be the first DVD-player in the world with High Definition support for DivX playback, establishing KiSS as the preferred choice for quality and certified DivX playback. The High Definition support for DivX playback display your movies in a quality very near to the quality know from ordinary DVD’s. An astonishing feature you will not find anywhere else for a long time.

At the launch of the DP-558, online games are implemented to all our players with network capabilities. Constructed in KML2, as the existing SHOUTcast WebRadio. A few games will come to this platform with the expectation of many more to join very soon.

We have also implemented an Online Weather Report, giving you an easy accessible weather forecast on your demand.

The DP-558 Digital Video Recorder is everything you never knew you always wanted. It has been a long waiting period, but we are happy to announce, that the DP-558 will be launched in July.
